Protect rights of women and children: Sinha
The State government should not lag behind in its responsibility of providing protection to women and children, said Goa Governor Mridula Sinha on the eve of Statehood Day on Monday.“Women and children have always been the pride of the country. We should focus our attention on providing them a respectful life. They need our sympathies, understanding, love, and a safe and respectful environment,” Ms. Sinha said. Goa became a full-fledged State on May 30, 1987. Ms. Sinha said Goa had benefited from the uniform civil code, which has been in practice in the State since the colonial era.
